STAKE
STAKE, originally founded as Stake Number Eight, began creating post/sludge metal in 2007. In 2008, they won the prestigious Humo’s Rock Rally competition. After releasing four albums under the name Stake Number Eight, they rebranded as Stake in 2018. In 2019, they released the album ‘Critical Method’. Stake has performed at various major festivals such as Wacken Open Air, Hellfest, Pukkelpop, Graspop, and Werchter Parklife. Additionally, they have undertaken international tours with acts like Mastodon, Alice Cooper, and Deftones.
In September 2022, Stake released their latest album ‘Love, Death and Decay’, which garnered significant international press attention. They also performed a showcase for the Walloon radio station Classic 21 and received airplay on BBC Radio 1. In the summer of 2022, Stake performed at the Polish Pol’And’Rock Festival, where they played on the main stage for 200,000 attendees. This gained substantial national press attention and served as an introduction for Stake to the Eastern European countries.
In 2024, the band celebrates its 20th anniversary, a milestone that will be commemorated with a grand birthday celebration in their hometown of Kortrijk.
